The AeroPress coffee maker is very easy to use and you have a thousand ways to get the best out of each coffee, juiciness being its main characteristic.
It was invented in 2005 by American Alan Adler. Its structure is made up of two plastic cylinders that together work like a syringe that introduces pressurized air into the mixture of water and ground coffee to filter the coffee through a paper filter.
Its lightness and compact shape makes it perfect as a travel companion
Its creator, who was also the inventor of the Aerobie flying disc, created the AeroPress to shorten coffee brewing time.
Preparing an Aeropress at home is simple:
1. Place filter and wet with hot water to eliminate any flavor and preheat the coffee maker.
2. Put the coffee inside the coffee maker and pour water between 88ºC and 92ºC in a circular manner, making a small pre-infusion. The coffee-water ratio is 18 grams per 200ml.
3. Pour the water up to the indicated marks, let it infuse, place the filter and press until you have 100% of the drink.
The extraction time may vary depending on your recipe, but the most common is between 2-3 minutes.
